With South Wales just three hours drive from Heathrow airport, Wales has some of the most beautiful and diverse scenery you can imagine, from wild mountains, peaceful valleys, quiet woodlands and towering sea cliffs to busy towns and cities. With its rich culture of music and traditions and a heritage dating back to prehistoric monuments, ancient Roman remains and Norman castles as well as its diverse industrial past of coal mining, quarrying and iron working, Wales has something for every interest.

Wales’ three National Parks were established to preserve the environment, agriculture and way of life within their boundaries. The Parks are not exclusive wildlife preserves, but aim to strike a balance between nature, agriculture, tourism, local culture and the needs of the local population. No permits are required to visit our Parks, they don’t have gates and they don’t close in winter.

Life goes on as normal within the boundaries as people work, eat, sleep and go about their business alongside the many tourists and visitors who come to these beautiful areas to experience the wonderful scenery and way of life.

Wales in a Nutshell will be evolving over the coming months, covering new areas of the country and offering new services to visitors from home and abroad.

Although we currently specialise in the Welsh National Parks, we are able to supply maps and guide books for any part of the UK, along with foreign guide books.

So add us to your favourites and you’ll want to keep coming back – just like visiting Wales!
